Can you help me with apparel choices and colors of designs?

As part of our efforts to provide top-quality embroidery, we work with our clients to select appropriate garments, hats, thread and ink colors. We can provide advice on where to place the design on a garment or hat, how big to make the design, and what thread or ink color(s) to use to make the impact that you seek from your design. But at the end of the day, it's your garment or hat and you have to be happy with it. We will work with you to optimize your design, and provide sample proofs of the embroidery so you can see what the end product will look like. Once a client provides approval of the proof, we begin embroidering or printing the garments. At that time, the client becomes responsible for the apparel, embroidery and print fees. Color N Design Embroidery is not responsible for any desired changes or errors including chosen colors discovered after final approval.

How do I place an order?

You can get an order started by completing our online free quote form. After you have visited our online apparel store, all we need to know is the item numbers, sizes and quantity listed on our apparel website that you would like to order.  We will then email you back with a quote and once you have accepted our quote, we will send an email that you need to verify that everything is correct and to proceed with the order. Once you have approved the order, we will email you an invoice that you can pay with a credit or debit card.

Can I use my own apparel?

It is our client’s responsibility to purchase all apparel items from our company which would include choices of size, style, color, and quantity. Occasionally we will allow our clients to provide their own products, however we reserve a 2% loss factor per job (minimum of 2 products per item). We absorb any loss factors when using our own products. Client-provided garments must be clean and in new condition.  Color N Design Embroidery reserves the right to refuse client-provided garments for any reason. Embroidery on client-provided garments is subject to additional fees.

Clients re-ordering garments that they have previously ordered from us understand that although the supplier's item number might be the same, there may be slight size or color variations based on different stock over time. As such, we encourage our clients to place a full order at one time, when practical. 

What is digitizing?

While the embroidery machine is what is actually applying the embroidery, the digitized file is the brains behind the art. A digitized file is the file that tells the embroidery machine what to embroider and how to embroider it, therefore it is extremely important that your embroidery digitization is done professionally and correctly. Every time you see a shirt or cap with an embroidered company logo, that design was digitized. Embroidery digitizing is the process of converting existing artwork like a company logo or team emblem into a stitch file that an embroidery machine can sew on a garment.

Before any design can be embroidered, it must be digitized. Digitizing is a complex process that is both art and science. This is a process we use in embroidery so the needles on the machine knows when to to make a color change it also helps us to determine how many stitches there will be in your design. 

What is your turnaround time?

Production is approximately 8-14 business days from your approval of the proof, plus shipping time. We can accommodate a rush job for a fee.

What file types can you except prior to digitizing or printing a logo?

We can use PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPG and GIF. Ideally, you should have the original, highest resolution version of your logo. We will have you email the file to us. Your embroidered or screen printed logo will only be as good as the artwork you provide

I don’t live near you

Not a problem.  We can usually take care of everything over the phone and by email. We service the USA and we ship most  of our orders.

Can you digitize any logo?


First, our digitizer must analyze the artwork to see if it should be edited for embroidery. Not all logos that were designed for a print media such as a business card will work well for embroidery. Many designs need to be simplified. In addition to correctly sizing a logo, some elements such as outlining may need to be eliminated and small text may need to be enlarged.

Do I have to meet a minimum quantity?

Our quantity starts at 8 items with the same logo and size of the design and you can mix and match apparel items, sizes & colors as much as you like.

What type of artwork and logos will you accept?           

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            We need the highest quality possible, usually in Jpeg, Tiff, or PDF.  Also you need to be the owner of the artwork. Logos, proprietary designs and photos that are copyrighted and/or trademarked as these belong solely to their owners. Our clients attest that they have full rights and permission to use the logos or designs that they bring to Color N Design Embroidery in the manner intended. Color N Design Embroidery is not responsible for obtaining any permission for logos or designs belonging to others. If we know that a client does not have the rights to use a particular logo, photo or design, we will refuse service.  We will also need a permission slip from the designer, artist or photographer granting us permission to use the design, logo or photo.

Can I order items that are not listed on your website?

Can I get a sample of the apparel before its embroidered or screen printed ?


Yes, if there’s a specific apparel item that you want to see, simply purchase the apparel at regular price and we will ship the apparel to you.  Return it within 14 days for a full refund. All you pay is shipping and handling.

How do I take care of my garment?

We recommend you wash your garments at no higher than 75 degrees and avoid using any stain removing products on and around the print. Do not iron over your embroidery or screen print.  If needed, turn the garment inside out or place a towel over the design.
